Personal Training with Dawn Dimond

 

My fitness background started at the age of eight when I started swimming competitively for my county and eventually training for the Olympics. When I was twenty-one I moved to Jersey and quickly found that a hectic social life played havoc with my weight and fitness. This prompted me to get back into a fitness regime and for the past eighteen years I’ve tried many forms of exercise including dance, step, bodypump, stretch and shape, circuit training, aerobics, running and eventually weights. The common factor throughout this experience was that being coached by professional trainers always produced the best results.

I’d worked in the finance industry since coming to the Island but I finally decided to use the exercise experience I’d gained over the years and become a fitness professional. The first step was to gain the necessary qualifications so I trained with Premier Global (www.premierglobal.co.uk) and successfully completed the Foundation In Fitness Instruction, Fitness Trainer and Nutrition in Health and Fitness courses. I am now a member of REPS (Register of Exercise Professionals - www.exerciseregister.org) and NAR (Nutritional Advisors Register). To retain my REPS membership I have to undergo regular training and I have used FutureFit (www.futurefit.co.uk) for this.

Having qualified I decided to create ‘Body Confidence’, a personal trainer and private gym experience. This fulfills the need for a truly personalised coaching service to assist clients in meeting their personal goals whether they are to lose weight, improve posture or to feel fitter, in comfort and privacy.

The first steps with any new client are the completion of a short questionnaire followed by a fitness appraisal and postural assessment. Through a thorough evaluation a personalised program is established which will give focus and direction to any exercise. Re-assessments are carried out which include blood pressure and lung function tests and body fat and circumferential measurements so that progress can be charted.

It’s a fact that you get more out of life when you are feeling relaxed, healthy and fit. Making simple adjustments to your lifestyle will improve your health, strength, immune system, add years to your life and increase your sense of well-being. I will provide approachable, friendly support giving motivation by phone, e-mail and in person along with coaching in a fully equipped private gym at convenient times to fit in with your lifestyle.
